Our little town of Cleanville is thrilled to welcome such enthusiastic entrepreneurs. Whether you have inherited your shop from a relative, struck it rich and are opening up a shop to keep yourself busy, have obtained a business loan and put it all on the line to pursue your dream of owning your own shop, or have obtained your shop through some other means, we are excited to add your business to our growing economy!
Number of Players: 2+
Suggested Supplies:
- A surface or space where items can be displayed for “purchase” (tables, boxes, bins, shelves, etc)
- Play money (if you don’t have any fake money, you can make fake money by cutting up pieces of paper in rectangles and writing $1, $5, $10 and $20 on them).
- Each player needs a reusable shopping bag or basket to put the items that they “purchase” in.
How to:
In shopkeepers, players each gather 25 things that need to be put away and set up the items on display in their “shop.” The shopkeepers then assign values to each item in the following distribution: ten $1 items, ten $5 items, five $10 items, and five $20 items. Players start with $150 and take turns visiting each other’s shops. Players must purchase a total of 25 items. When all items have been purchased, the players then put away the items they have bought.
Variations:
- Rules for younger players: Each player starts with dollars equal to the number of items that the shops start with and each item receives a value of $1.
