Contained Cleaning

Contained Cleaning

This is a neat and convenient way to handle clutter. Great for those times when you want to start on a tidying project but know that it might get interrupted or you might need to take a break and come back to it later.

How to:

Players should find a bag or a box (ideally of about the same size) and fill it with anything that needs to be put away. Once the bags or boxes are full, the players can put each item in their container away where it belongs.

Tips:

  • Don’t let the apparent cleanliness of the room lull you into a false sense of security. Make sure to finish emptying the containers! Choose a reward for putting away all items. This can also be used as a base strategy for several cleaning games:
    • Keys to the Kingdom: Gather the items to be put away in a container that can be carried and use these items to gain access to other rooms.
    • Musical Clean Chairs: Begin the game by gathering all items that need to be put away into a container. Then draw from this container each time a chair needs to be refilled with an item.
    • Once Upon a Time…: Begin by putting the items to be put away in a box or bag and then draw from this container while playing the game.
    • The Post Office Cleaning Game: Use a large box to be the post office.
    • The Rhythm of Cleaning: Listen to music while cleaning!
    • Stealth Cleaning: At the beginning of the game, gather the items to be put away in a container and then carry the container with you or return to your container for more items while stealth cleaning.
    • Tidy Farmers: When gathering “seeds” at the beginning of the game, place them in to a box or bag.
