One Set at a Time

One Set at a Time

A commonly used cleaning strategy that deserves a spot in our cleaning tool box is the implementation of the “One Set at a Time” rule. Make it a household rule that your kid(s) can only get a new set out to play with after they have picked up the previous set that they were playing with. For example, they can’t get out the blocks unless they have picked up the train set that they already have out. This won’t keep your house clean on it’s own, there will always be clutter accumulating, but it can greatly help to keep down the bulk of the mess, especially in kid’s rooms and playrooms.
