Keeping House for a Dragon

Keeping House for a Dragon

Once upon a time, dragons could do as they pleased. The great fiery beasts ruled the skies of the fairy tale kingdoms. They frightened peasants, dueled with knights, toyed with armies and demanded princes and princesses as their servants. After all, dragons are very vain creatures and they love to boast to each other about the elegance of their caves, the size of their treasure troves and the nobility of their servants. Dragons threatened to burn down whole kingdoms if a prince or princess did not agree to serve them. Of course, the noble princes and princesses of the fairy tale kingdoms always agreed to the dragon’s demand and the dragons never actually had to burn any kingdoms to the ground. Knowing that they would one day be required to act as a servant to a dragon (until they are eventually rescued by a knight or noble warrior) the royal children are taught the skills to become successful servants… along with fencing, needle point, dancing, and politics of course.

Number of Players: 1+

How to:

Players pretend to be princes or princesses that have been captured by a dragon and forced to tend to the dragon’s caves. Players can choose to play the game in a single room, multiple rooms or the whole house. The room(s) that need to be cleaned are the dragon’s caves and the players have just arrived. The dragon leaves their servant alone and instructs them to have the caves spick and span before the dragon returns. Players must hurry to clean the dragon’s dwelling. They can put away any items that are out of place, make the bed, sweep or vacuum, set the table or any other task that they think the dragon will approve of. When the dragon returns, they can pretend to show the dragon all of the wonderful work they have done.
