Number of Players: 3+ (works better with larger groups)
How to:
Set up a circle of chairs (one less chair than you have players) with their backs facing each other. If you only have 3 players, set up two chairs with their backs against each other. Choose one player to be the music maestro first. This player puts one item that needs to be put away on each of the chairs. The other players then each start at one of the chairs. When the music begins, the players walk around the chairs. When the music maestro stops the music, all players grab the item on the chair next to them and sit down on that chair. The players then race to put away their item. The first player that puts their item away gets to be the next music maestro and refills each chair with something that needs to be put away. When all players return to the circle of chairs, a new round starts.
Tips:
- It works well to start with a middle thing pick-up so that the music maestro can easily find items to be put away and refill the chairs while the other players are finishing putting their items away.
