Cleaning Games for Kids: Red Light, Clean Light

Number of Players: 3+ (see below for 2 player variation)

How to: 

Choose a player to be the first “traffic controller.” The traffic controller calls out “clean light” and all players start cleaning the room as quickly as possible. When the traffic controller calls out, “red light” all players must freeze in place. Any player caught moving after “red light” is called, is out and keeps cleaning until there is only one player left in the game. The last remaining player becomes the new traffic controller and starts a new round.

Variation for two players:

  • Rules for two players: If you have only two players, one player is the traffic controller while the other player cleans. The player doing the cleaning must freeze appropriately five times in a row in order to become the new traffic controller and the old traffic controller becomes the new cleaner.
